The Ultimate Aquarium Monitoring and Control System
The HYDROS Control X4 PRO Pack includes two
Control devices, the Control XP8 and Control X4. Combine these Controls to
create a secure and impressive set-up for both saltwater and freshwater
aquariums. Connect up to four sensor devices, including temperature sensors,
water level sensors, and leak detectors. The device also includes two Drive
Ports for powering pumps and solenoids and two Probe Ports for monitoring pH
and ORP levels.
Connect up to eight pieces of aquarium equipment, including
heaters, lights, pumps, skimmers, and more, to the 120V AC outlets on the
Control XP8. Both devices can send alerts and notifications and connect up to 8
WiFi devices for added control on additional equipment. Both devices can send

adding a HYDROS WiFi Power Strip or HYDROS Smart Plug (both sold

About Control X4
HYDROS Control X4 is a powerful and robust aquarium
controller capable of performing all essential functions needed to maintain a
healthy aquarium without the need for extra expensive modules. Set up is quick
and easy, making this ideal for both beginner and advanced hobbyists. Just one
Control X4 can monitor temperature, pH, ORP, and water level, to name a few,
and control pumps, timers, level sensors, and much more thanks to its
technologically advanced design. It can be used as a standalone controller for
saltwater aquariums, freshwater tanks, pond applications, or it can be added to
other HYDROS Controls to build a more extensive system. The Control X4 operates
on a HYDROS Safety Net and is rated IP65 to keep your equipment and aquatic

4 - Sense Port
The Sense Port is a new concept in aquarium parameter
measurement. HYDROS devices include several Sense Ports. A Sense Port is a
generic input port that can accept data from numerous different types of
sensors.

2 - Drive Port
The Drive Ports provide switched 12V DC power for running
small lights, motors, pumps, fans, and other accessories. The exact current
being supplied by each port is continuously monitored by the Control, so if a
motor or pump quits drawing current or draws too much, you will be immediately
notified.

2 - Probe Port
One of the most remarkable ports on the HYDROS Control X4 is
the Probe Port. You can connect an ORP or a pH probe to the Probe Port but,
this is no ordinary pH input! The circuitry is based on an ultra-high-quality
input chip specifically designed for these types of probes. Each pH input
provides digital galvanic isolation from the rest of the system. Galvanic
isolation prevents interference with other accessories connected to the system
like motors and pumps. Digital Galvanic isolation preserves the accuracy of the
measurement by converting the signal to a digital domain before crossing the
isolation threshold.
0-10V Port
The HYDROS Control X4 has 0-10V I/O (input and output) ports
that allow it to control and receive commands from other HYDROS devices and
accessories from other brands. A legacy automation system can provide input via
the 0-10V Ports. They can control variable speed pumps and can also be used to
monitor simple switch closures, like push buttons or float switches.
2 - Command Bus
The HYDROS Command Bus is used to power the Control as well
as communicate with other HYDROS devices for the ultimate failsafe.
